What kinds of returns are achievable with Forex?

I get asked quite a lot about what sort of returns are achievable trading Forex.

So, I thought I’d share the ‘Trader of the Month’ results with you.

Let me remind you, that while some of the returns from the ‘Trader of the Month’ (and for that matter what many Forex Traders are achieving) are quite spectacular, the winner isn’t necessarily picked for the biggest return on investment.

But rather their overall strategy, those well risked and general improvement in the trading skills that will see them making money and building their wealth over the long term.

One such trader that stood out for their Risk Vs. Reward ratio is Karina Banhuk who achieved a very respectable 5.01% Return On Investment in September.

Some other honourable mentions go to…

  • Arunas Blandis (NSW) who achieved 24.06% ROI for his first month of trading live!
  • Peter Drew (QLD) was so close to 100% ROI with his 85.46% ROI for September.
  • Bruce Annandale (NZ) achieved 14.37% ROI for the month.

LTG GoldRock – Trader of the Month

Here is a story of Juan Trujullo, LTG GoldRock student.

“I joined LTG GoldRock at the end of August 2009 and started trading live as soon as I had setup and funded my account.

I have attended many trading seminars and courses and traded shares, CFDs and Futures on and off over the past 15 years and I felt that I had enough experience to handle trading larger volumes in FX, so I started trading $10 PIPs.  I had mixed results, but eventually I started having larger losses and after only 3 months, I managed to blow almost half of my account!

I realised that I had to change something or pretty soon I would have nothing left in my trading account.  I went back to basics and started using a rough calculation of between 0.5% and 1% risk of my account for each trade.  This had an immediate positive effect on my trading and I started having more successful trades and reducing the size of my losses.

Soon after this, LTG supplied us with a copy of the Risk Calculator, which I started to use for every trade I placed.

By March 2010 I had stemmed the losses and April 2010 was my first profitable month.  Every month since then has been profitable and I have recovered almost all my losses.

In the early stages, I was taking almost all trades called by Dom, Marina & the Chief, but soon started to develop an affinity for a couple of the trade setups and became more selective with my trades.

Early In February 2010 I decided to stay up late a few nights and learned the intricacies of the Range Break from Lorrie.  I found this setup made a lot of sense to my trading style so I started back-testing and refining its application on about seven of the major pairs.  Once I started trading the Ranges, I found that my success rate went up dramatically.  Most of my trades these days are taken from the Range Break setup with the occasional Zingo thrown in when the markets are trending strongly.

I am so glad I joined LTG GoldRock because they have lived up to everything they promised and more!  They have an amazing team of people who walk the walk and really care about helping others to succeed.

I know where my trading is going and I am certain that I will be making a very healthy living from my trading in the not too distant future.

If I could give anyone advice on how to get their trading moving in the right direction, it would be to listen to the advice given by Andrew and the LTG GoldRock Trading Room Team.  Go through all the course materials made available in the Members’ site.  Start small and build on it.  Use the Risk Calculator before every trade and do yourself a big favour and read “Trading in The Zone” by Mark Douglas several times.  This book has really helped me to change my mindset and approach to trading for the better.”
